ABOUT US

At Hummingbird, children are encouraged to be independent and learn through the play following the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) philosophy. Recognising that children develop more rapidly during the first seven years of their lives than at any other time, we foster high levels of interaction to promote language and communication skills, as well as creativity and critical thinking.



 



We also incorporate Executive Function skills into our curriculum: Executive Functions are controlled by the frontal lobe of the brain which regulates the ability to think, study, solve problems independently, get along with others, and find happiness. These skills develop most during the formative years (birth to age seven) through positive learning and are vital in bringing out the best in each unique, well-adjusted child.

Working hours : 07:30 - 16:30

Responsible

  • Cultivates positive, collaborative relationships with families, and consistent communication with families.
  • Implements classroom instruction that supports the social-emotional growth of children.
  • Writes and delivers lesson plans which engage EFs skills to children that are engaging, and effective per children data.
  • Assesses and evaluates children growth; action plans on class-wide, group-wide and individual basis in response to children’s data.
  • Creates a classroom culture that develops in children core values and independent learning skills.
  • Participate in an annual staff orientation, school event and training.
  • Support playgroup class, summer class and after school clubs.
  • Clearing away materials and equipment after lessons.
  • Helping with outings, sports events and school events
  • - Take seriously the responsibility to safeguard and promote the welfare of children, and to work together with others to ensure adequate arrangements within the school help to identify, assess, and support children who are suffering harm.
  • Ensure the ongoing Health & Security for all Early Years stakeholders

Education Level : Bachelor's Degree

  • Growth mindset and ability to accept and implement feedback.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and without ego.
  • Self-reflective, with a drive to continually grow as a teacher.
  • Be a fluent English Speaker
  • Hold a Teaching License or equivalent
  • Hold a Bachelors degree in related field.
  • Able to understand implement the school core values.
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in teaching the EYFS curriculum or other early years curricula.
